Why eco-friendly cosmetic packaging matters

In 2018, Zero Waste reported that more than 120 billion units of packaging are produced in the global cosmetics industry every year. Non-recyclable plastics are among the biggest concerns.
Consequently, it’s our industry’s responsibility to take immediate action – and we are working hard to play our part. We’ve made it our mission to house our tanning products in eco-friendly cosmetic packaging, using recyclable bottles made of recycled plastic.

Top Tip: The pumps on our products are not yet widely recyclable. Remove the pump, then recycle the remaining packaging.
How do I know if my packaging is recyclable?
We’re constantly striving to make our packaging more environmentally friendly. On every product page on our website, you’ll find a ‘recyclability’ section that tells you how best to recycle your packaging. Please help us take care of our planet and recycle where possible.
Top Tip: All of our shrink sleeves are made from PET, the same recyclable plastic as our bottles. They can also be recycled.
What extra steps are we taking towards eco-friendly cosmetic packaging?
We are constantly working to become more sustainable. Our next objective is to house our Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse (3.3oz), Purity Bronzing Gel (6.7 oz) and Purity Bronzing Mousse (6.7 oz) in packaging made of post-consumer recycled plastic.
Unfortunately, we haven’t managed to source a pump that is recyclable yet. Our lotion tubes, which are made of mixed materials, aren’t currently recycled either. However, we promise that we are working hard to remedy both of these and will update you as soon as we can.

We have simplified our formulas without compromising on quality, ensuring every ingredient is responsibly sourced and absolutely essential. It’s all part of our wider ambition to become a more sustainable beauty brand!
